Description:
A fairly new burger startup in East Austin, Your Mom's has some incredibly tasty, creative burgers. While they definitely aren't cheap ($7-8 before fries and drink), you get a half pound patty prepared and cooked fresh before your eyes in a number of elaborate ways (lots of different cheeses, boudin, chorizo, artichoke, pulled pork, fried egg, avacado, etc., along with all sorts of spices and sauces). Of course if you want a straight up standard cheeseburger they do that too, along with selling veggie burgers.
The fries are alright, nothing wrong with them, just nothing too memorable either. The onion rings are delicious though, and you must try their fried pickles.
The atmosphere is small but cute, the staff friendly, and while it's not the fastest or cheapest burgin' spot, I would argue that it is the tastiest Austin has to offer, an acclaim I held for years about Casino el Camino. Give these guys a shot, your stomach will thank you.
