Description
There aren't a lot of choices for dining when you're up in northern Saskatchewan. Sure, the fishing's great, and a pike cooked over a campfire as the summer sun is setting is a great dish all-round, but there're times when you need something else.
Something like a plate-size burger.
For less than 20 bucks.
Yes, that's right - tucked away in the town of Meadow Lake, SK, is this little gem of a diner - the Nifty 50 - just off the main drag, and not two blocks from the liquor store. They have a solid selection of home-made burgers, up to the aforementioned plate-size burger (which the menu suggests feeds four).
If you're in that neck of the woods and have a hankering for a homestyle diner burger, it's the place to be.
(Side note: The Nifty Fifty is also the Greyhound stop for Meadow Lake. If you're not taking the bus, try to get there between buses, or you're likely not to get a seat.)
